THE MANIFESTO OF SELF

The official definition of ‘P e r f e c t i o n’ is – having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.

Even if we do not realise it, we have all experienced a glimpse of wanting to be perfect, wanting to fit an ideal, wanting to be like someone else.

We are born into a world full of hyper-materialism and idolism where everyone and everything is perfect except for ourselves.

We’re told we don’t have the perfect bodies; we’re told we don’t have the perfect skin; we’re told we’re too much; we’re told we’re not enough – but who decides that?

The beauty standards and societal normalities we’re fed through the media we consume has enforced standards that we subconsciously aspire to and this has escalated dramatically due to the acceleration of technology that allows us to access even more media.

Did you know that the beauty industry in 2019 has been estimated to be worth $532 Billion? We can see it everywhere around us and have allowed ourselves to be consumed by it entirely. To be engulfed in a hyper fixation of everyone and everything except ourselves, we have subsequently allowed ourselves to get lost in the mayhem of the 21st Century.

How? We learn to detach ourselves from the world we have grown up in
